Inter-American Court reviews Fujimori pardon – The Tico Times | Costa Rica News | Travel

Carmen Condor, the sister of Amaro Condor, a victim of repression during the regime of former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori (1990-2000), attended a hearing convened by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San José, Costa Rica, on Feb. 2, 2018.

Human rights groups and relatives of victims asked the Inter-American Court of Human Rights Friday to rule against a pardon for former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori, who was serving a 25-year sentence for human rights abuses. Fujimori, 79, was pardoned by the current Peruvian president, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, on December 24 on humanitarian grounds because of ill-health.
